Will Bolton BNI work for me and my business?
BNI is the most successful organisation of its type. Any business has the potential to reap the rewards that BNI can bring, however the structured way in which BNI works doesn’t suit everyone and it is recommended that anyone who is thinking of joining comes along as a visitor to decide for themselves whether it is suitable for them.
When you join the BNI it is like employing a sales team to sell your products and services. You need to remember that you are not selling to the people in the room but you are educating them about your business so that they can then recommend your product and services to their contacts.
What do I need to do to join Bolton BNI?
You first need to visit us so you can decide whether it is right for you. If you like what you see and your category is available you need to fill in and submit an application form. Your application will be processed and as long as we are comfortable your business meets certain criteria and you are right for the group you will be accepted.
Is my category available in the Bolton Chapter?
Our member’s page will indicate which categories have been taken at the Bolton BNI chapter. Even if your category has been taken it is still worth contacting us as there maybe alternative categories suitable for you or we can keep your details on file so that we can inform you if your desired category becomes available.
How much does BNI cost?
You are investing in word of mouth marketing, compare this to other forms of marketing such as an advert in the paper and you will find that it is a very cost effective investment.
When you join there is a one off fee of £110 (plus VAT) and then membership is £435 (plus VAT) per year. There is also a weekly charge to cover the cost of the room and your breakfast.
Depending on your business and turnover this outlay may seem substantial, if you think about it in terms of how much business you need to get from the group to cover this cost you will probably find that your membership fee will pay for itself many times over. There is also the option to pay on finance.
Do I have to attend every week?
One of the reasons why BNI works so well is because of the relationships and trust built up from meeting regularly. Obviously during the course of the year there will be times when a member cannot attend due to sickness or holidays. On these occasions members can send a substitute to represent their business; however every effort should be made to attend whenever possible.
What if I join and can’t contribute to the group?
This is a common worry with most new members. You will find that as you get to know and trust the members of the group referrals will start to come naturally to you. BNI training is also available to help you make the most of your membership and teaches you how to contribute to the group.
